About Elohi Gadugi Journal

Elohi Gadugi Journal: Narratives for a New World is a journal of literature and art published in seasonal online editions. We originally planned to produce an annual print edition each Fall, but found this impractical and discontinued the print edition after the first year. We debuted on July 1, 2012, and our first (and only) annual print magazine was released in the autumn of 2013.

Elohi Gadugi Journal is a project of Elohi Gadugi, and The Habit of Rainy Nights Press. We are an Oregon nonprofit.

The mission of Elohi Gadugi is:

  • to provide venues for the work of struggling writers and artists who use language as a primary aspect of their art;
  • to promote narratives of social and environmental responsibility, and intercultural understanding; and
  • to support the works by or about indigenous Americans, and other marginalized groups in the contemporary literary world.

We encourage work that speaks to the important issues of our time in a literary and artful way.
