Dispersed Waltz

beautiful, how the swirls in your iris
were as brilliant as the points
on a South American constellation.

tragic, how the details of your mouth
vanished in a wet orchestra
of raindrops.

you still prowl in the outskirts
of my boundaries,

delicately scratching the urges
quietly rumbling
inside of me.

without you, I’ve gone to places
beyond completion,
and walked into the deepest spaces

of the rain, until all of you
extinguished.
