Eyes

Have you seen us

wrapped in a blanket

pushing a shopping cart

our only protection from nocturnal predators

walking all night?

Do you see us
lying on the sidewalk

cardboard under our spines?

Get down out of your helicopters.
Shut down your drones
Remove your eye
from the top of the pyramid

Our sign is the sign of
a million upstretched hands
.

In each open palm

a flashing eye
.
