the veil you
wear your waist
is the colour of water

tack your tangerines
to your tent
before they’re tanned

no lamps to guide your eyes
through this forest of fears
ghosts blur your mirror

and your hell is stoked
stir a volcano into your blood
you’ll be crowned a stoic
