Submissions to Elohi Gadugi Journal

Spring Edition debuts on April 1 — Join us!

Submit Now! buttons below will take you to our Submittable submissions page.

Elohi Gadugi Journal online magazine is now accepting submissions for our Spring, 2013 edition until April 15, 2012. We are seeking short fiction, poetry, creative nonfiction, essays, scanned or computer-generated art, sound, video, and multimedia.

In the fall of 2013, we will publish the first of a planned, annual best of Elohi Gadugi Journal in trade paperback format.

As a submitter, you retain full copyright to your work, we ask only first publication rights for as long as the online issue is current (until the following issue comes out) and the non-exclusive option to include your piece(s) in our annual print edition.

We are publishing four quarterly online “issues”. But these issues will not be static–as we continue to update them over the course of the quarterly edition. Our issues are themed, but please take those themes as guidelines only in their broadest possible context.

What Are We Looking For?

Please read our mission statement to get an idea of what we are all about.

We are less than enthralled with the typical navel-gazing which plagues much of American literary work. We want to publish works that put our world in a larger context. We particularly encourage indigenous and multi-cultural work.

We like fiction or poetry that is speculative, historical, mythical, magical, fabulist, realist, surrealist, experimental. We like work that is bold and even edgy, but we insist on narrative. Tell us a story.
